Via Giulia is one of Rome's great Renaissance streets, laid out in the early 1500s as a straight ceremonial route through the government quarter. It runs close to the Tiber and is lined with palaces, churches, arches, antique shops, and quiet corners that make a good slow walk between Campo de' Fiori and the river.
