La Camogliese

Waterfront seafood restaurant on the harbour

La Camogliese occupies a prime position on the waterfront, with tables looking directly onto the harbour and the painted palazzi beyond. The menu is resolutely seafood-focused: whole grilled fish, mixed fried fish, and a good selection of antipasti di mare including marinated anchovies and bottarga. The trofie al pesto is reliable, made with house-rolled pasta. Prices are what you would expect for a place with views this good, but the cooking matches them.

The restaurant is busy in summer and weekends, when reservations are essential. In the quieter months, you can often walk in for lunch. The outdoor terrace on the harbourfront is the best place to sit; the interior, while comfortable, loses the point of being in Camogli.
