A medieval fortress perched above Città Alta with a commanding view in three directions. Walk up Via Rocca from the funicular stop at Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe — there's a great museum inside, and just outside on the right an old Roman road with chariot grooves worn into the stone.
From the top you get a sweeping overview of the upper town and the plains below.
