Brescia sits on the main Milan–Venice railway and the A4 autostrada, with frequent fast trains from Milan (40 minutes), Verona (30 minutes) and Venice (1 hour 45 minutes). Brescia-Montichiari (Gabriele d'Annunzio) Airport, 18 km south of the centre, handles a limited number of low-cost flights; most visitors arrive via Milan Bergamo or Verona airports instead.
