By train, Campobasso has a station on the Campobasso–Benevento and Campobasso–Termoli–Pescara lines, but services are slow and infrequent; the journey from Naples requires a change at Benevento and takes over 3 hours. By bus, SAIS and Marino operate coaches to and from Rome (about 3 hours), Naples (2.5 hours), and Foggia (1.5 hours). Buses are generally faster and more frequent than trains for connections to major cities.
