Eating Out

Olbia has a good selection of restaurants along Corso Umberto and around the port area. Sardinian cooking is distinct from mainland Italian: look for culurgiones (filled pasta with potato and mint), porceddu (suckling pig roasted over myrtle wood), and the local hard sheep's cheese pecorino sardo. Fresh seafood is excellent here given the port location — sea urchin (ricci di mare) in season is a local speciality. Prices are generally more reasonable than in the Costa Smeralda resort strip north of town.
