Olbia rewards a few hours of walking the old centre. The Basilica di San Simplicio and the archaeological museum are the main anchors, but the Porto Romano area and the piazza around Corso Umberto have their own character. Outside the city, prehistoric Nuragic sites — megalithic towers and burial grounds — are scattered throughout the Gallura region.
