Cantine Pellegrino is the largest of the still family-owned Marsala houses, founded in 1880 and run by the same family ever since. The cellars are inside the old town and include a small museum tracing the history of Marsala wine, with old bottles, presses, and ledgers.
The tasting flights are good value and broader in style than Florio's: alongside the fortified wines they show their dry Sicilian whites (Grillo, Catarratto, Inzolia) and a few of the late-harvest sweet wines. It is the easier of the two big cellars to drop into without booking.
