April–June and September–October are the best months. The light is clear, temperatures are pleasant (20–25°C), and the crowds are manageable. The Taormina Film Fest runs in late June and brings glamour and disruption in equal measure.
July–August is peak season: extremely hot, very crowded, and prices are at their highest. The Greek Theatre hosts concerts and performances throughout summer, which draws both visitors and traffic jams.
November–March is quiet, cool, and often rainy but atmospheric. Most restaurants and some hotels close or reduce hours. Mt Etna may have snow visible. The town is genuinely peaceful and locals reclaim it for a few months.
