Marciana Marina is a quiet base rather than a destination in its own right. Its appeal is the combination of beach, harbour, and access to the rest of Elba. The cable car up Monte Capanne is the one excursion that justifies a detour; the harbour itself is pleasant to walk and watch boats come and go. For more active exploration, the mountain hiking trails and the coastal road to Portoferraio are the main options.
