The main square of Palazzuolo, lined with stone arcades and the houses of what was once a small market town. It is the social centre of village life: the morning paper, the evening passeggiata, and the table where every official festival begins.
Most of the village can be seen from the square. The Palazzo dei Capitani is on one side, the parish church a few steps away, and on Sundays the square fills with stalls of mountain produce — chestnuts, mushrooms, cured pork.
