Volterra's municipal picture gallery is housed in the Palazzo Minucci-Solaini, a small 15th-century palace attributed to Antonio da Sangallo the Elder. The collection is modest but contains two undisputed masterpieces: Rosso Fiorentino's Deposition of 1521, an extraordinary mannerist work in vibrating reds and pinks, and Luca Signorelli's Annunciation. There are also fine 14th-century Sienese altarpieces and a Ghirlandaio.
