The Templar Complex of San Bevignate is one of Perugia's more unusual medieval sites. The plain exterior gives little away, but inside the church and complex preserve traces of the Knights Templar, local devotion, and frescoes that pull the visitor into a less polished side of Umbrian history.
It sits outside the most obvious tourist circuit, which is part of the appeal. Go if you have already seen the main piazza and want a quieter site with a specific story rather than another broad museum.
