Bovolone is an unremarkable town on the plain, but the area around it has a long tradition of handcrafting period reproduction furniture — mostly Baroque and Neoclassical styles, made in small workshops that have been at it for generations. Several workshops and showrooms line the roads into town, and it is possible to visit and buy directly. This is niche territory — you won't find it in any guidebook — but for anyone interested in Italian craftsmanship, it is worth a detour.
