Corso Italia

The Corso Italia is Cortina's pedestrian main street and the social spine of the resort. Closed to traffic, it runs through the heart of town lined with designer boutiques, sporting goods shops, gelaterie, and cafes with outdoor tables. In winter it fills with skiers in full gear browsing Prada and North Face side by side; in summer it becomes a more relaxed passeggiata route with mountain views framed at both ends. The Basilica dei Santi Filippo e Giacomo stands at the southern end, its tall campanile visible from the slopes above. The evening passeggiata here has a particular Italian theatricality — everyone dresses well, nobody hurries, and the aperitivo hour stretches pleasantly toward dinner.
