Bars and Cafes

Cortina's bar scene is shaped by the resort calendar: in winter, après-ski starts at the lift base around 4pm and moves into town by evening; in summer, the focus shifts to aperitivo on a terrace with Dolomite views. The Corso Italia is lined with cafes and bars that manage to be simultaneously chic and relaxed — nobody is trying too hard, because the mountains make the backdrop.

Campari is the local aperitivo of choice, usually served as a Spritz (Campari, Prosecco, and a splash of soda — the Venetian version differs from the Aperol one that has conquered the rest of the world). Local grappa and amaro also appear, and the craft beer scene has grown in recent years with a handful of mountain breweries in the Belluno province supplying local bars.
