Mount Faloria

Mount Faloria (2,123 m) rises immediately east of Cortina and is the most easily accessible of the surrounding peaks: a cable car departs from the edge of the town centre and reaches the summit station in minutes. The views from the top take in the whole Ampezzo valley, the Tofane to the west, and the Cristallo massif to the north — a panorama that orientates a first-time visitor better than any map. The cable car runs year-round.

In winter, Faloria and the adjacent Cristallo sector offer some of Cortina's most challenging skiing, including the steep chutes used for competition. In summer, the plateau below the summit is a good starting point for walks toward the Croda da Lago and the Sorapiss group. The rifugio at the top serves food and has a sun terrace that fills quickly on clear days.
