Villa Valmarana ai Nani is one of Vicenza's best villa visits after Villa La Rotonda, and in some ways the more intimate one. Its fame rests on frescoes by Giambattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo, plus the line of dwarf statues that gives the villa its nickname.
The setting on the edge of the city makes it easy to combine with La Rotonda, but do not treat it as merely an add-on. The frescoed rooms and garden details reward a slower visit, especially if you are following Palladian Vicenza beyond the central streets.
