Prizren is pleasant from April through October. The summer months (June–August) are warm and dry, with temperatures reaching 28–32°C. This is also when the city is most lively: the DokuFest international documentary film festival takes place each August, turning Prizren's old town into an outdoor cinema and cultural hub, with screenings on the fortress walls, in courtyards, and along the river. It is one of the most atmospheric film festivals in Europe and worth timing a visit around.
Spring (April–May) and early autumn (September–October) offer milder temperatures and fewer crowds. Winter is cold — temperatures drop below freezing — but the city takes on a different character, the tourist cafes close, and you get the old town largely to yourself.
