By train: Several direct trains daily from Riga, taking around 2.5–3 hours. This is the most comfortable option and the station is centrally located.
By bus: Regular bus services from Riga (similar journey time) and from Vilnius in Lithuania. The bus station is near the train station in the centre.
By car: Daugavpils is well connected by the A6 road from Riga (roughly 230km, around 2.5 hours). From Vilnius in Lithuania the drive is also approximately 2.5 hours via good roads — easy as a cross-border day trip or en route between the two countries.
By air: There is no commercial airport in Daugavpils. The nearest airports are Riga (for international connections) and Vilnius.
