Nida specialises in smoked fish. Stalls along the lagoon promenade sell smoked perch, pike, bream, and the famous Curonian smoked flounder — pick a fish, pay by weight, and eat it on the spot with rye bread and a beer. Several decent restaurants in the village serve fuller meals; smoked fish remains the unmissable local dish.
The lagoon-side promenade is also the centre of evening eating and drinking. Prices are higher than mainland Lithuania but still reasonable.
