Armier sits at the very northern tip of Malta, a small sandy bay framed by low cliffs and beach-shack restaurants. It is informal — boatshacks and weekenders' cabins crowd the back of the beach in a way that horrifies architectural purists — but it has a relaxed local feel that the bigger beaches lack.
The swimming is good and the wind is usually light. There are several decent fish restaurants behind the beach if you want lunch with your toes in the sand. Easiest reached by car; bus service is infrequent.
