Sliema is well served by buses from Valletta (routes 12, 13, 14, 21, 22) and from the airport. The most appealing way to arrive from Valletta is by the regular passenger ferry from the Grand Harbour — the crossing takes about 10 minutes and gives views of both Valletta's fortifications and the Sliema seafront. Ferries run from early morning until around midnight in summer, with reduced hours in winter.
