Malta's finest prehistoric collection, home to the Sleeping Lady figurine

Housed in the Auberge de Provence on Republic Street — one of the grandest surviving auberges of the Knights — this museum holds the best collection of Maltese prehistoric artefacts outside the temples themselves. The star exhibit is the Sleeping Lady, a terracotta figurine found at the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum, depicting a reclining woman of extraordinary serenity. Neolithic temple art, Bronze Age remains, and Roman-era finds are also well presented.
