A reliable local restaurant named after the fortress a short walk away. The kitchen turns out solid Moldovan cooking: grilled meats, fish from the Dniester (when in season), and the obligatory mămăligă. The setting is unpretentious — formica tables, a TV in the corner, a fridge of local beers — but the food is freshly cooked and the staff are accustomed to the occasional foreign visitor. A good fallback if Nistru is full.
