Soroca is around 160 km north of Chișinău and there is no train service — the bus is the only realistic option from the capital. Several daily departures run from the North Bus Terminal (Autogara Nord) in Chișinău; the journey takes approximately three hours along a road that winds through the Moldovan countryside. Minibuses (rutiere) also cover the route and are slightly faster but less comfortable.
From Bălți, the nearest large city to the north-west, shared taxis and minibuses cover the 70-odd kilometres in about 90 minutes.
There is no direct international bus service. Travellers arriving from Ukraine via the crossing at Iampil (on the Ukrainian side of the river) will need to arrange a taxi to Soroca, as there is no scheduled transport linking the border directly to the town centre.
The town has no airport; the nearest international airport is in Chișinău.
