Jaz Beach

Large open beach 3 km north of Budva, less developed than the hotel strip

Jaz is a broad, gently-curving beach about 3 km north of Budva, separated from the resort strip by a headland. It is longer and less developed than Slovenska obala, with a mix of pebble and sand and water that is clear and calm in summer. The backdrop is a low headland of Mediterranean scrub rather than a wall of hotels, which gives it a more open feel.

It is less serviced than the beaches in town — fewer sun lounger rentals, fewer beach bars — but that is part of the appeal. A taxi from Budva takes about 10 minutes. Jaz has hosted open-air concerts in summer, including a period when it was used for the Sea Dance Festival. The access road can get busy on weekends in July and August when locals and tourists both head here, but it rarely reaches the density of the main Budva beaches.
