Podgorica is a small city and the central sights are walkable. The old quarter (Stara Varoš), the city centre around Independence Square, and the riverfront are all within comfortable walking distance of each other. Taxis are cheap by Western European standards and plentiful — use a metered taxi or agree a price before getting in. Uber does not operate here; local apps include Texi Montenegro. Buses serve the suburbs but are of limited use for tourists staying in the centre.
