Design Museum Den Bosch

Contemporary design and applied arts in a converted 18th-century building

The Design Museum Den Bosch — formerly the Stedelijk Museum 's-Hertogenbosch — focuses on contemporary design and applied arts, with a collection that spans ceramics, glass, jewellery, fashion, and industrial design. The museum is housed in an elegant 18th-century almshouse complex, and the contrast between the old building and the modern objects inside works surprisingly well.

The temporary exhibitions are consistently interesting and the permanent collection has real strength in Dutch and international ceramics. The museum is a short walk from the cathedral, making it an easy addition to a day in the centre.
