Getting There

Vlissingen is the southern terminus of the rail line from Amsterdam — trains run hourly via Rotterdam, Roosendaal, and Middelburg, with the journey from Amsterdam Centraal taking around 2.5 hours. The Vlissingen station is a 10-minute walk east of the old town.

By car, the A58 motorway runs the length of Walcheren from the Zeelandbrug. The Westerschelde Tunnel (toll) connects Vlissingen to Zeeuws-Vlaanderen and the Belgian border. There is no scheduled passenger ferry across the Scheldt — the historic Vlissingen–Breskens ferry was replaced by the tunnel and now operates only as a foot-and-bicycle ferry, running every half hour from the small ferry pier east of the station.
