Sint-Willibrorduskerk began as a Catholic church that was not allowed to look like a church from the street. It opened in 1768, when public Catholic worship in the Dutch Republic still carried restrictions, and was later given a more openly church-like facade during a 19th-century renovation.
It is a modest stop, but it adds a useful religious and social-history layer to Zierikzee's better-known harbour gates and civic buildings.
