Bodø Open-Air Museum preserves historic buildings and everyday material culture from Nordland, giving visitors a grounded look at life along the northern Norwegian coast. Farm buildings, interiors, and reconstructed settings help explain how people lived with short growing seasons, harsh weather, and a maritime economy.
The museum is especially useful because Bodø itself lost much of its older fabric during the Second World War. As a result, the open-air collection gives travellers a stronger sense of regional history than the modern city centre alone can provide.
