Horseid is the wilder neighbour of Bunes, equally remote and slightly harder to reach. The beach faces northwest into the open ocean and catches long Atlantic rollers that make it a rare surfing spot in the Arctic. The surrounding landscape is pure Lofoten drama: dark rock walls, scattered boulders, and the sea.
Access is by boat from Reine (water taxi or the passenger ferry via Vindstad), followed by a walk of about an hour across rough terrain. Like Bunes, there are no facilities whatsoever. The combination of Atlantic exposure, mountain backdrop, and utter solitude makes this one of the most compelling beaches in northern Europe.
