The obvious day-trip target from Narvik is the Lofoten Islands, now reachable by road and a short ferry hop via the Hålogaland Bridge and E10 — about three hours' drive each way. Abisko National Park in northern Sweden is roughly an hour east on the E10 and one of the most reliable places in Scandinavia for the aurora. The Norwegian fjord town of Harstad is also within day-trip range to the north.
