Narvik's restaurant scene is small but solid, with a clear bias towards seafood, reindeer, and the kind of hearty, slow-roasted lamb dishes typical of northern Norway. Most options are concentrated within a short walk of the main square.
Furuly Veikro on the lake at Bjerkvik, about 15 minutes north of town, is a classic Norwegian roadhouse worth the drive — the kjøttkaker (meat patties) in brown sauce with potato are a benchmark version. In town, Pizzeria Rallar'n is a popular casual spot named after the navvies who built the Ofotbanen. For something more ambitious, Smak Restaurant in the Scandic Hotel offers tasting menus built around local cod, halibut, king crab, and arctic char.
Prices, as everywhere in Norway, are high. Lunchtime specials and the bakeries on Kongens gate are good budget alternatives.
