The old town has a lively bar scene concentrated around Dluga Street and its side alleys, and along the Motlawa waterfront in summer. Polish craft beer has taken off in the last decade and Gdansk has several good tap bars. The city also has a strong cafe culture — stop in one of the old-town cafes for coffee and a slice of sernik (Polish cheesecake) or szarlotka (apple cake).
