By air: Gdansk Lech Walesa Airport (GDN) is 12 km from the city centre. It has direct flights from most major European cities, and from Warsaw. A commuter train (SKM) runs from the airport to Gdansk Glowny (main station) in about 25 minutes; taxis take a similar time but cost more.
By train: Gdansk Glowny is well connected by PKP Intercity services. Express trains from Warsaw (PKP Express Intercity) take around 2 hours 45 minutes. There are also direct trains from Krakow (around 5–6 hours), Poznan, and Wroclaw. The station is at the western edge of the old town — the city centre is a short walk.
By bus: FlixBus and PolskiBus connect Gdansk to Warsaw, Krakow, and other Polish cities. Journey times are longer than by train but fares are lower.
By car: Gdansk sits on the A1 motorway connecting it to central Poland. Driving into the old town is impractical — park at the edge and walk or take a tram.
