One of the few surviving elements of Kolobrzeg's formidable medieval fortifications, the Gunpowder Tower -- more precisely the Fuse Tower -- is a squat brick bastion that once stored ammunition for the garrison. It stands near the old town centre alongside remnants of the city's ramparts, giving a tangible sense of the fortress city that held out through numerous sieges over the centuries.
