Kołobrzeg Lighthouse

Climbable red-brick tower with sweeping Baltic views

The red-brick lighthouse standing at the harbour mouth is one of the most photographed landmarks on the Polish Baltic coast. You can climb it for sweeping views over the beach, the marina, and — on a clear day — far out to sea. It stands close to the long pier, making this corner of the seafront the natural focal point for an evening stroll.

A story
The current lighthouse dates from 1945, built by Soviet engineers immediately after the Battle of Kołobrzeg to reopen the harbour. It replaced an earlier 19th-century tower destroyed in the fighting.
