Oksza Villa is worth visiting before you even get to the paintings. The building is a fine example of the Zakopane Style, the mountain architecture promoted by Stanisław Witkiewicz as a distinctly Polish response to the Tatra landscape.
Inside, the gallery focuses on 20th-century art linked to Zakopane and the wider cultural life of the mountains. It is a good complement to the main Tatra Museum: less about ethnography and natural history, more about how artists turned the Tatras into a modern cultural symbol.
