Getting Around

The old town is walkable. For the rest of Faro, local buses cover most areas and the train station connects to other Algarve towns along the coast. Most visitors hire a car at the airport — it's the practical choice for exploring the Algarve region. Taxis are readily available; Uber also operates here. For the lagoon islands and beaches, ferries run from the pier near Jardim Manuel Bívar throughout the day in season.
