Housed in a former 16th-century convent on Praça Afonso III, this is Faro's main archaeological museum. The cloistered building is worth visiting for the architecture alone; inside are Roman mosaics, medieval coins, and finds from excavations at nearby Estoi — an important Roman villa site. Open Tuesday to Sunday; closed Mondays.
