Batalha has no train station. The closest are Leiria (15 km north) and Caxarias (20 km east), both on the Lisbon-Porto line; from either, regional buses or taxis cover the last leg in 20-30 minutes.
By road the town sits on the A19 motorway, an easy spur from the main A1. Driving times are about 1h30 from Lisbon, 2h from Porto, 1h from Coimbra, and 25 minutes from Fátima. Long-distance Rede Expressos coaches stop here on the Lisbon-Leiria-Porto route. A small parking lot just behind the monastery handles most arrivals; in high summer it fills by mid-morning.
