Cabo Mondego is the rugged headland north of Figueira da Foz, where the Atlantic coast becomes steeper, windier, and more geological. Its cliffs and exposed rock layers give a different mood from the city's long beach.
The cape is best for a drive, walk, or viewpoint stop when you want air and scale. On clear days the views run along the coast and back toward Figueira; in rough weather it feels properly Atlantic.
