Nazaré's main attractions divide between the waves and the town itself. In winter, the Praia do Norte delivers the biggest surfable waves on earth; in summer, the town beaches are wide and popular. The upper town (Sítio) rewards a visit any time of year for its clifftop sanctuary, views, and quieter atmosphere.
