Most of Constanța's nightlife in summer migrates north to Mamaia, where the open-air beach clubs run until dawn. The old town is quieter, with a string of pleasant cafés and wine bars around Piața Ovidiu and along the seafront promenade. Off-season, the city goes early to bed; a couple of pubs near the cathedral stay open later, but do not expect the energy of a big Romanian city.
