The Catedrala Sfinții Apostoli Petru și Pavel is Constanța's main Orthodox cathedral, completed in 1885 to a design by Ion Mincu, the architect who effectively defined the Romanian National style. The plan is a Greek cross with a single dome over the crossing; the exterior is finished in brick and pale stone with deep eaves and shallow blind arches typical of Romanian late-19th-century church work.
The interior — repainted in the 1980s after wartime damage — has a notable iconostasis carved by Italian craftsmen from Verona. The cathedral sits on the cliff edge a few hundred metres south of Piața Ovidiu and looks straight out to sea. Services are held daily; visitors are welcome between services.
