The Faleza — the cliff-top promenade — wraps around the eastern and southern edges of the old town peninsula from the Aquarium past the Casino and the Genoese Lighthouse to the Modern Beach. It is a pleasant walk in any season: in summer for the sea breeze and the views; in winter for the storm waves slamming against the rocks ten metres below.
The promenade was extensively rebuilt as part of the Casino restoration in 2020–2023. There are new benches, lighting, several modern public-art installations, and a couple of seasonal cafés on the eastern stretch. It is the easiest way to take in the geography of the old town. Allow forty minutes for a slow round-trip.
