Getting Around

Khabarovsk's city centre is walkable — the main sights cluster around Ulitsa Muravyova-Amurskogo and the riverfront — but the city spreads over a large area and public transport is needed for outlying districts.

Trams and trolleybuses cover the main routes; the tram network is useful for reaching the northern neighbourhoods and the railway station from the centre. Buses (marshrutky, shared minibuses) are faster and more frequent. Taxis are cheap by Western standards and widely available; Yandex Taxi (Russia's equivalent of Uber) is the most reliable option.

River transport in summer: cruise boats run on the Amur in summer, offering sightseeing excursions on the river. These range from short trips along the waterfront to longer cruises downstream. The ticket offices are at the river station near the city beach.
