Military Museum of the Far East

The Military Museum documents the history of the Russian military presence in the Far East from the Cossack expansion of the 17th century to the Soviet period. The collection includes weapons, uniforms, maps, and documents covering the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–5, the Russian Civil War in Siberia (fought partly in Khabarovsk itself), and the Soviet campaign against Japan in 1945.

The outdoor section is worth a look: Soviet-era military hardware including tanks, artillery, and aircraft displayed on the museum grounds. The museum is particularly relevant given Khabarovsk's frontier history — this was an active military zone for most of the 20th century, and the exhibits reflect that. Signage is primarily in Russian.
